Chandrima Ganguly

Principal Counsellor

Hi,

We provide online boutique counseling services across India, offering support to working professionals, students, parents, and anyone who feels they need guidance.

My journey into counseling stems from a deep-rooted passion for resolving emotional challenges and helping individuals lead more fulfilling lives. With 25 years of corporate experience as a finance leader, I have witnessed firsthand the pressures people face—whether in their careers, personal lives, or different phases of life. This understanding, combined with my professional training in counseling, led me to establish Sumona, an initiative dedicated to emotional well-being.

To enhance my ability to support others effectively, I pursued an International Graduate Diploma in Counseling Skills, further strengthening my expertise. My approach is person-centered, empathetic, and non-judgmental, ensuring that every individual feels heard, valued, and empowered on their path to self-growth.

At Sumona, we help individuals navigate challenges such as low self-esteem, confidence issues, anxiety, stress, grief, relationship struggles, career dilemmas, and more. Our efforts are driven by passion and backed by experience, with the support of esteemed institutions such as Dhanush Foundation and ASSOCHAM.

For me, counseling is more than a profession—it’s a way of giving back to society, helping people realize their self-worth, and guiding them toward a healthier, happier life.

How It Works

We offer personalized counseling tailored to your emotional needs. To get started, simply email or chat with us about your concerns. Our team will review and assess your challenges, then schedule a session with our principal counselor, Miss Chandrima Ganguly, based on priority. Session length varies from 1-6 or more sessions, depending on your goals and situation. Please be responsible and avoid sending random or irrelevant messages, as this may deprive someone who truly needs support. Let’s ensure that those who genuinely seek help get the care they deserve.

Email us your concern

Email us your concerns. Our team will carefully review your message, assess the severity of your challenges, and prioritize accordingly. Based on this, we will schedule your session with our principal counselor, Miss Chandrima Ganguly.

Virtual Consulting: Sessions are conducted via Zoom (video or audio calls).

Video calls make it easier for a counselor to understand your body language, and it is helpful for you too. Seeing your counselor can help build trust. However, if you're not comfortable, we respect your choice—you can turn off your video at any time.

Email Support: We are available via email for regular communication and updates.

Counseling with us is not just a one-time support. Once you take counseling, you can reach out to us anytime—weeks, months, or even years later. One of our clients shared that simply knowing he had our email and number gave him immense hope, knowing there was always someone to turn to for understanding and support.

Forget the reasons why it won't work. Start focusing on the reasons why it will!
Our Approach

At Sumona, we listen, we understand, and we empower. Our person-centered approach respects your individuality and empowers you on your journey toward self-actualization.

Why to consider a Professional Counsellor over Family or Friends?

Seeking help from a professional counselor can provide valuable support in navigating personal challenges. Here’s why professional counseling is beneficial. There are three types

understand your emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns without personal judgment. Their expertise allows them to use scientifically proven techniques to guide you toward positive change.

2.Confidentiality and Non-Judgmental Space

A professional counseling session ensures complete confidentiality, giving you a safe environment to express your thoughts, feelings, and concerns freely. Unlike social interactions where you may fear judgment,

counselors offer empatheti, unbiased support. This secure space encourages honest self-reflection and healing without the fear of criticism.

3.Focused Support and Structured Approach

Unlike casual conversations, professional counseling follows a goal-oriented and structured approach. Sessions are tailored to your specific needs, ensuring that you receive personalized strategies to address your challenges.

Testimonials

I was going through the lowest phase of my life when I first spoke to Chandrima. She listened to me intently like a confidante and lent me her emotional support like a friend. She was always there when I needed her. We had several sessions and by the end, my life was transformed. Her kind, genuine, loving nature along with acceptance and understanding helped the facilitative dimension of counselling. Her skills and counselling sessions helped me become action oriented. She is like an angel in my life, and I can never thank her enough for all that she has done for me. I proudly recommend Sumona to anyone who needs emotional counselling.

Ms Namita Reddy
Hyderabad

Chandrima was the first person to whom I opened up, after I moved to a new city from Delhi. She was so kind, loving and compassionate in her dealings with me that I instantly struck up a bond with her. We had multiple counselling sessions and she was always there for me whenever I needed her. Her emotional support and guidance empowered me to produce that magical cure effect. Truly it was an outstanding boutique counselling service delivered, that too at zero price. I sincerely recommend Sumona to all people who are dealing with the emotional pain.

Mr Prateek Kumar
Delhi

My only son had become estranged, and nothing could have been worse than this situation. Chandrima listened to me without any interruption, only intercepted with positive strokes. She had the desire and motivation to understand the other person. She helped me to introspect the situation very objectively and brought out the positive side of the situation. We had many sessions and at the end of them, I found my inner peace and became calm. I finally got my son back. I owe my life to her. I wish her more success and happiness in life. I heartily recommend Sumona to all who are in need of counselling.

FAQs

Can Counselling Benefit Me?

Absolutely yes. Counselling is useful for majority help seekers. In few cases, even if it does not benefit you, it will surely not harm you as we follow non-directive counselling. In this type of counselling, you are empowered to take your own decision for your life. We help you explore your own strengths and collaboratively develop solutions to navigate challenges effectively.

Is It Normal to Seek Counselling?

Many people believe that counselling is only necessary during extreme distress or after a major life event, such as a loss. However, this is a misconception—counselling is beneficial for anyone facing personal or emotional challenges. Seeking support early can prevent issues from escalating.

Are You a Qualified Counsellor?

Yes, I am a qualified counselor. My journey into counseling is driven by a deep passion for helping individuals navigate emotional challenges and lead more fulfilling lives. With 25 years of corporate experience as a finance leader, I have witnessed the pressures people face in their careers and personal lives. This understanding, combined with my professional training, led me to establish Sumona, an initiative dedicated to emotional well-being.
To enhance my ability to support others, I pursued an International Graduate Diploma in Counseling Skills, further strengthening my expertise. My approach is person-centered, empathetic, and non-judgmental, ensuring that every individual feels heard, valued, and empowered on their journey to self-growth.

What is Online Counselling?

Online counselling provides mental health support via the internet, offering flexibility and accessibility. Whether through video calls, real-time chat, or email-based sessions, online counselling allows you to receive professional support from the comfort of your home.
This mode of counselling eliminates geographical barriers, ensuring you can work with the right professional regardless of location. It also provides a convenient way to reflect and process emotions in a familiar environment.

Do You Prescribe Medication?

No. Only medical doctors and psychiatrists can prescribe medication. My role is to support you in managing your challenges. There will be no medication involved. We will help you with counselling only enabling you to see the positive side of things in your life and free yourself from burdens that are holding you down. However, we can connect you with psychiatrist doctors, if we feel you need clinical intervention.

How Long Will Counselling Take?

The duration of counselling varies based on individual needs. Many people start with weekly sessions for about a month, then transition to bi-weekly or monthly check-ins. Around 80% of my clients see progress within six sessions, though the journey differs for each person.
While some individuals feel relief after just one or two sessions, long-term change often requires consistent effort. If you are committed to personal growth, continuing therapy even when you feel good can reinforce positive habits and deeper self-awareness.

Can Online Counselling Help Me?

Online counselling and coaching sessions can be conducted through video calls, real-time chat, phone sessions, or email correspondence. Each format offers a unique way to connect and communicate, and I ensure that sessions are comfortable and tailored to your needs.
If you're curious about how online coaching might work for you, I encourage you to explore the process—it could be the support you need to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

What if I don’t know whether I need counselling?

That’s exactly why we ask you to write your concerns! If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out to us through mail or chat option—our experts will analyse and get back to you.

I called, but no one answered. What should I do?

We carefully review each request and selectively schedule counselling sessions. If your case is shortlisted, we will get back to you.
